SOUTH BY LINE UP

So it's almost that time again..SXSW 2007. Anyone who is a music fan should be able to run wild in the streets of the ATX between the 14-18 of March, before the Winter Music Conference steals all the thunder. For those of you who don't know, South By South West (SXSW) is an A&R/Label showcase that's gone completely overboard. Hundreds of performers from all over the globe, out of control showcases, all-hours afterparties, it's the one time of year when you get to stop envying all your NY & LA friends.

See for yourself, we posted the line up and it is bananas. Central Booking will definatly be in the house, we have a few confirmed gigs and will be updating our calendar as the days draw near.

Look out for performances by our girl Oxy Cottontail, Nick Catchdubs, The Rub, A-Trak, Kid Sister, The Federation (yay area!), Flosstradamus, Kid606, Star Eyes, Daedelus, Smalltown DJ's, Dallas' own Big Tuck & Tum Tum along with the rest of the DSR crew, and Mr. Pookie & Mr. Lucci.

Check out the full line-up here.

BUG-A-BOO

Being a Dj, this song hits close to home. Every time you play out, you have at least one "bug-a-boo" asking you to play something you would never play, something you already played or something that's just plain booty. This video goes out to my boy $elect and all the other Djs out there that deal with "bug-a-boos" on a daily. Big up to Ed O.G & Bulldogs on this classic track and the ill wardrobe in the video.

Ok, so we got the photos up from our last Party. Once again our boy Fashion Josh came through and captured the evening. We combined our photos with his and here you have it. If anyone else has any dope shots from this night, send them our way. I also wanted to give a much needed shout out to our girl Knoxy who came through big time and shot some really flavor photos at $elect's Quinceanera Party. Photo albums are still located in the Fashion section to the right. > Thanks again for everyone's continued support and we will see you at Purple Crush...Time to break out that Purple wind suit! -CB

J.T&A Q&A

Ok, so I first met Tittsworth back in early 2006 but was introduced to his music a few months earlier by one of my homies. There was a while were it seemed like everyone was playing his fish fry joint, where he samples the jeffersons theme and puts it to great use. I ordered his records for my shop and stayed in touch with him through email for the next few months. My boy Witness (rock box houston) booked him in Houston and I did the Austin show. This was right after I got my residency at the beauty bar and that night has managed to stay on top of the craziest nights yet list. I am really proud of my man, he has really been hustling and making big moves this past year. If you havent already, you can get the Dj Ayres (what up ayres!) and Tittsworth mix, "Ayres & Titties" on money studies from waterloo records or turntablelab. I also want to mention that centralbooking is looking forward to hosting a Tittsworth Texas tour in the very near future! keep your ears and eyes open for updates on the blogsite.

Waddup waddup, it's everybody's favorite titty..Tittsworth, aka DJ
Titts, aka J.T&A, aka Jesse Nipplesworth. I release club records
faster than fat ladies do buffet plates. 4 records out in the last
couple years and the test presses of 2 more just got approved. Watch
out!

TOP FIVE FAVES RIGHT NOW?
1. WTF - tittsworth f/ paserock and kid sister
2. ain't shit n*****, pussy - dj taj/bamabounce
3. sir duke - stevie wonder (atrak remix)
4. back it up - unk (dave nada remix)
5. money in the bank (dj technics remix)

ANY PROJECTS IN THE WORKS?
Always.
-I have the EZ-T EP about to drop featuring 6 new joints burnin up
celeb sets and top 10's around the globe
-You'll see more cutting edge releases from T&A Records w/ vinyl and
CD's on the way (WOOO that new TAJ is HOT)
-I have a b-more/miami bass battle record coming out on Ammo (A-trak's label) alongside DJ Ayres
-I've been in the studio with Paserock, Kid Sister, Stretch Armstrong and more.
-Z-trip recently hit me up on some 'let's collab' type ish
-100% original Tittsworth album forthcoming on Plant. Straight
danceable comedy, club stormers, bassy RNB fusions, even some Pitbullmeets electro type ish, this album is clearly the most dynamic, challenging and creative release I will have ever been a part of. No half steppin here!

I NOTICED OVER THE LAST YEAR OR SO SINCE WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER THERE HAS BEEN A HUGE TITTSWORTH RAMPAGE, HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THAT? YOU KNOW THE BLOW UP, HAHA.
I'm usually the last to find out that I've been in a mag or blog. I
focus on doing what I love and I'm grateful that there are folks out
there that feel it. Don't get it twisted tho, I *GRIND*. There's a
full time job, giggin' out of town almost weekly, holding down 3
residencies, a label, releasing records quarterly and album work.
Sleep is the cousin of death.

WHO ARE YOU WORKING WITH? IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE YOU WOULD LIKE TO WORK WITH?
I look forward to releasing the Dave Nada Club EP in the near future.
Dave has a great sense of humor, has lived in Baltimore (and clearly
has an authentically inspired sound), and brings an energetic rowdy
metal background. All I can say is GET READY!

Between hectic schedules Ayres and I run T&A Records which continues to focus on club BANGERS from our team but also welcomes new talent. Nice wit it? GET AT US. We're approachable folk!

Plant Music (Stretch Armstrong and Dom/The Glass) has inspired me toget this original album out and has connected me with some amazingtalent along the way.

DJ Taj, Dj Taj, Dj Taj. He's like fine red wine. We connected back
on the Technics board and it's been gravy every since. This cat is
seriously one of the illest in my eyes. He continues to surprise me
and I look forward to growing with him as a producer.

In terms of a wish list, I'm an old DNB/UK hardcore cat so I think
expressing some of my roots via collabs with dudes like Sinden and
RadioClit would output something heavy. I've always admired Daft Punk, so a proper remix would be an honor. I also secretly desire to one day score a film. I'd like to collab more with Miami Bass cats. Iplan on one day releasing a house record.

I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE DEFINITELY BEEN PUTTING THE BALTIMORE SOUND ON THE MAP. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE RECENT BALTIMORE CLUB EXPLOSION? DO YOU THINK THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WHEN ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE IS SAYING THAT A DJ BOOMAN REMIX IS A MUSTHAVE DOWNLOAD FOR THE MONTH?
Not at all. I think it's necessary for the expansion of the music and
ultimately the explosion has provided a burst in creativity. Some
would say the essence of the music is getting lost. I would disagree
and say that club is more exciting now than I have ever seen it. I
think back to Frank Ski V103 sets where it was rave, club, uk
hardcore, chicago house all intertwined, and I love that fact that
it's starting to feel like that again.

THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF TALK ABOUT THE WATERING DOWN OF DJ SKILLS AND THE LOWERING OF THE BAR DUE TO EVERYONE THINKING THEY ARE A DJ THESE DAYS. ANY THOUGHTS?
Baltimore club music is by definition pretty minimal, loopy stuff.
There's nothing worse than hearing the same boring loop for 3 minutes straight. So if you're going to play minimal music (like club), KILL IT! If you're not ready, practice! Technology has made things a lot easier in many regards, but garbage is still garbage, whether a wack demo is in my kitchen trash or my Windows recycle bin.
