This just in. Our guy Playboy dropped a new mix for Valentines Day. I know Valentines has come and gone but grab it anyways! Feel good, timeless Reggae music. I caught up with Playboy last Wednesday while he was filling in for Nature at Taxi fare Wednesdays. He tossed this mix my way and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. If you get a chance to check dude out live, do so. Start by grabbing this mix. Real deal folks.

Check back for a full interview in the near future.

Grapes Run This

Last night was nothing short of epic. The Sour Grapes art show was amazing! The artwork was next level, the crowd was super thick and our dude Sopa was killing it on the music selections. The after party was CRUNK! I'm sorry but that is the only way to explain it. The Quinn got extra rowdy last night. Select and I tried our hardest to enusue just that. If you were in the spot after midnight you know exactly what I am talking about. Madness! Big Big ups to the Sour Grapes Crew, these dudes put in mad work and it shows. Congrats homies.

Above are a few shots from last night. If you are in the DFW area be sure and check the show out in person, it runs through March 14th.

Sour Grapes :: Sábado Gigante

This Saturday it goes down. Double up with our good friends the Sour Grapes. First off is a 3 person art show that takes place at HCG. I was lucky enough to get a preview some of the work that will be unveiled this evening and I must say, prepare to have your wigs blown back! After the art show, Select and Myself will be handling the after party at The Quinn in Oak Cliff. I played a birthday party at this spot and it was off the chain. "That's my hood".

See you Saturday.

Looking Back

Our friends over at The Public Trust have a new show going up tomorrow. Looking Back: An exhibition of new work by jeremy Smith. If you are out and about, swing through and check it. The reception will take place from 6-9pm.

About the Artist
B. Islip, New York. Smith has quietly been on the rise as a self-made cartoonist after contributing his Ropeburn strip to Art Prostitute Issue 05, which he continued to do until the publications hiatus in 2007. That year he received a grant from the Xeric Foundation which he produced his first printed collection of Ropeburn comics. The work is the culmination of years of keen observation within the service industry and everyday life.

The recurring cast of characters illuminate the meaning found in daily interactions, through humor and with a sardonic wit. In addition to his contribution to Art Prostitute, Smith has also contributed work to the Portland Mercury and is currently pursuing a career as a nationally syndicated cartoonist. Jeremy Smith lives and works in Denton, Texas.

About the Exhibition
Looking Back will feature a new body of Smith's small scale drawings and original strips, as well as those from the first Ropeburn publication and Art Prostitute.

Opening Reception
Saturday Feb. 7th
